City Profiles

The abstract photographs from China and Germany discuss the individual perception of reality and the memoryof locations and certain situations. Quoting elements of the original subject in a subtle way the photographs force an interpretation from objective perception of the eye to a picture which was formed by a personal memory.

The transformation of the motifs into new colours and shapes is already achieved during the individual picture taking process by using the camera manually. Thereby each single picture is non-reproducible. The individual movement while pushing the shutter becomes a comment on the  discovered subject, giving enough opportunities for own interpretations.
